Frightfully fun Halloween Card

A stamped card using Halloween colors and ribbons. Fun to make and fun to receive!

Happy Hauntings

I have created a collection of "potion fixings" by spray painting a variety of jars and affixing labels using scrap booking materials. These were a big hit at a college age party and make a cute display when paired with fake brains (bought at the dollar store), bones and flocked spiders.
Witches toenails are candy corn,
Eye of Newt: bubblegum eyeballs
vampire teeth-candy "Billy-Bob" teeth
Ghost Guts-sour string candy
Let your imagination go wild!

Yarn Stash shawl

The scrap yarn shawl looked beautiful but I failed to take a picture of it! Sorry! DD wanted to trade her red prayer shawl for the scrap shawl...but I didn't let her since hers had been specifically prayed over with her in mind. I will make her one in the near future to mimic the one I donated. In face, I liked it so much I intentionally purchased yarns that coordinated to make some additional striped shawls and will post photos of those when they are completed.

Yarn Stash Prayer Shawl

I have decided to use up some of the Lion Brand yarn stash I have accumulated while making various other prayer shawls. As you can see from the stash photo, my palate leans toward the earthy colors. I am about half done with the shawl and DD says she likes it better than her solid red one and I have to admit it is looking better than I had hoped. I cast on 80 stitches and will knit rows in varying widths using up my stash of yarn. Can't wait to post the finished project!

Vegetable Soup: self striping yarn

I love this self striping yarn. I had never used it before but it won't be the last time. I purchased this in a discount bin for $1.99 and I know that was a bargain. I'm pleased with this scarf. I name all my scarves and DD suggested Vegetable Soup for this one. What do you think?

Thinking ahead

I know that it's only Memorial Day weekend and Christmas is the last thing on your mind...but you have about 5 months to get your act together and begin creating some lovely gifts now. I'll post some ideas for some fall and Halloween crafts too!

For now...I'll just entice you with what "cast-offs you need to begin collecting

Assorted Jars
Gallon Milk Jugs
broken jewelry, pottery and china
Corks
Greeting cards
Purchase worsted MID weight yarns in your choice of colors (I prefer solids)

Spend the weekend taking some great photos (think Christmas Cards or a great scrapbook page)

Enjoy!

Multiple knitting Projects in the Works

I sorted out all my yarn this morning. I have 2 "knifty knitter" loom projects, 2 triangle shawls, a cabled headband, a cabled scarf, a baby prayer-shawl and some glove trims in process. I plan on making a prayer shawl out of "scraps" as soon as I finish these projects and I can't wait to get started on it.

I just learned to cable and feel so smart! I need to "practice" my crochet...since I tore out the first crochet project and used the yarn to make the cable scarf. Can't wait to post some pictures!

Ideas

The best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas.

There's an artist imprisoned in each one of us. Let him loose to spread joy everywhere.
--Bertrand Russell

If I create from the heart, nearly everything works; if from the head, almost nothing.
--Marc Chagall

A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist.
